Computer-Aided Production System (CAPS): The Future of Production

We have found the project of CAPS (Computer Aided Production System) that describes the holistic approach of realizing a vertical integration of all major systems/platforms within our company. Therefore we have decided to enhance the Windchill environment with the MPMLink installation to establish the manufacturing-oriented capabilities. Using MPMLink to model our manufacturing and assembly processes by creating detailed process plans, with exact part allocation, the creation of manufacturing optimized bills of materials and maintaining also production-related resources generates immense synergies Besides the MPMLink side of our project, we have also focused on the "how" and decided to create a globally used application to display and transport the manufacturing-related information into the production locations to assure stable, reliable and safe manufacturing processes. ThingWorx provides the UI for the application.
